Company History

CHI was founded on the principles of material and process innovation for the aircraft composites industry. CHI started as a composite parts fabricator in 1974 as a spin out of Aerojet General. CHI supported a number of Air force and aircraft engine programs utilizing newly developed high temperature resin systems. CHI has been involved in every major military fighter program since the 1970's. Our products have flown on commercial aircraft, helicopter, satellite, and launch vehicles.

CHI has been a key participant in many of the critical new aircraft composites material advances on the B-2, F-22, F-35, and recent unmanned programs.

The company has won numerous supplier and local government awards for our continued commitment to excellence and our stewardship to our stakeholders.

In 2007 CHI joined the Hampson group of companies as a key element in their growth in niche applications for composite aircraft structures.

CHI has evolved through two major expansions over the last 15 years. The most recent being in 2010 wherein we increased our facilities by close to 100% to our current 91,000 sq ft.
