ISO 9001 Approved
Since 1999, Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) has registered CHI to ISO 9001. This all-inclusive quality standard has since become a basic quality system for all high quality manufacturers. We are currently certified to the latest version, ISO 9001:2000 (Appr. No. 111513/A).
To meet these new and demanding requirements, we updated our entire Quality Manual to the required. The major changes were in the area of Change Management. The new AS9100 requires more documentation of the change process. A number of other documents and forms were also changed to improve our operations at CHI
AS9100 Approved
CHI were among the first to be certified to AS9100, the upgraded aerospace version of ISO 9001. Audits by LRQA and aerospace manufacturers have confirmed our current compliance to the Rev. B version of this augmented set of requirements. We also maintain an FAA Repair Station and an FAA-approved Repair Station Manual.
Nadcap AS7118 Approved
CHI is approved to AS7118 for the fabrication of composites, bonding and honeycomb assembly. The Nadcap certification process requires stringent compliance to the highest industry standards for advanced composite parts fabrication.
Quality Training and Tools
In support of our Quality System, we have invested in training employees in the use of such tools as Six Sigma, SPC, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen. We use these data analysis programs to evaluate current operations and control machine drift. Through contracts with the Quality Systems Group of the California Manufacturing Technology Center (CMTC), membership in Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA), and the Air Force MTAPP we have gained additional skills and experience with these technologies.
Measuring Tools
Our Quality Control tools are calibrated to NIST standards, most by a certified
calibration laboratory. High-accuracy Coordinate Measuring Machines provide
a programmable three-dimensional capability for fast, precise measurement.
